BioWorks 3.3

BioWorks is a legacy proteomics data analysis suite developed by Thermo Electron for processing LC–MS/MS data generated on Thermo mass spectrometers. It integrates the SEQUEST database-search algorithm to identify peptides and infer proteins directly from Thermo .RAW files, offering tools for spectral visualization, scoring, and results filtering.

Through the BioWorks Browser, users can review MS/MS spectra, apply customizable thresholds (such as XCorr and DeltaCn), perform batch processing, and generate reports. The software streamlines workflows from data import and database searching to results review and export in common formats. While BioWorks has since been superseded by newer Thermo solutions like Proteome Discoverer, it remains widely cited in earlier LC–MS/MS proteomics workflows.
